2020 a year to remember, COVID a world in turmoil resulting in amongst other things all unnecessary travel coming to an abrupt halt. It was a time, for taking the opportunity to look forwards but also to reminisce on the path we had taken up to 2020.
The great thing about a plan is it can always be updated & best of all changed.
We are heading back to Greece in August & funnily enough in a very similar situation as when we headed to Greece in 2018 only this time we are selling “Kiri Maia”.
August 2021: New adventures await us; we are landbound till Kiri Maia2 is ready!
Kiri Maia has new owners, Mark and Stacy. It was a great feeling to finally hand over the keys and see Mark, Stacy, and Connor move on to Kiri Maia, to be renamed Bedouin.
We left Mark & Stacy to enjoy setting up Bedouin and we headed to “Le Sable D’olnne” a seaside town in Western France on the Atlantic coast, to wait for delivery of Kiri Maia2.
Welcome to our sailing journey 2023, its shaping up to be very exciting
We have fairly loose plans on the route we will take to get from Aegina Greece to Gran Canaria.
The weather as per usual is going to play a major role as we sail across the Mediterranean, in which destinations we will be able to head to.
Currently, the plan is to leave Greece for Turkey no later than 10th April, sail straight to Turkey then sail the Turkish coast for ninety days.
From Turkey, we will sail back through Greece to Italy. The route we take from Italy really is going to depend on which way the weather takes us, we hope to be able to sail to,
Malta, Sicily, Corsica, Sardinia across to the Spanish coast, Gibraltar across the Strait of Gibraltar to Morocco to arrive in Gran Canaria mid-October.
Gran Canaria is to be our boat preparation & departure port to sail across the Atlantic to the Caribbean.
